The multi-talented, home-town hero Alexandre Despatie was spotted by one of my clients wearing a 53mm, beige U-Boat Classico. Alexandre was speaking at a recent public appearance when my client noticed the bold, oversize design that U-Boat watches are known for. I find it even more fitting that I'm writing an entry about the world champion and Olympic medalist, as his twenty-fourth birthday on the eighth of June quickly approaches.
Alexandre Despatie started diving at the age of five and has since captured many titles as well as the hearts of many fans in his native Montreal and Laval and in the rest of the world. He offers his time to charity work and played his first role in a feature film as Olivier Duclos in the 2006 Quebec teen flick À vos marques! Party!. Alexandre is a well dressed, young, up-and-coming star. The perfect fit for a 53mm beige Classico.

An RCMP search of a Windsor residence uncovered a luxury counterfeit watch operation police say pulled in more than $1 million US in sales.
Authorities said Monday the watches were sold online to consumers around the globe. Police seized counterfeit Rolex, Tag Heuer, Gucci, Versace, Louis Vuitton and Chanel watches from the home.
'Counterfeit goods represent a financial loss to legitimate businesses, governments and taxpayers. These goods are often cheaply made and not up to Canadian standards,' said Cpl. Anne Garneau of the RCMP's Windsor federal enforcement section in a release.
'Consumers should be very leery of purchasing high-end goods over the internet, especially if the goods are not being sold by authorized dealers.'-Cpl. Anne Garneau, RCMP
Police also noted that consumers should be wary of bargains that seem too good to be true.
'Consumers should be very leery of purchasing high-end goods over the internet, especially if the goods are not being sold by authorized dealers,' Garneau said.
Michael Gittens, 28, of Windsor has been charged with offering and selling copyrighted goods and attempts to defraud.
The RCMP conducts more than 400 investigations into counterfeit goods each year across the country, while Canadian industry estimates the knock-offs cost it as much as $30 billion annually.
The Canadian Anti-Counterfeiting Network says consumers should carefully scrutinize their purchases, particularly if the goods are offered for sale online.
Consumers should be wary if a deal seems too good to be true, the CACN says, noting that luxury goods rarely go on sale. Shoppers should also scrutinize packaging for spelling and grammatical errors and shoddy packaging materials.

We are proud to say that we will be receiving the first Bell & Ross BR01 Tourbillon in Canada. This extremely exclusive watch, limited to 60 pieces worldwide, should be arriving next week.
In addition to a tourbillon and power reserve indicator, the Bell & Ross BR01 Tourbillon regulator style timepiece also features an interesting addition. A torque indicator the company is calling its trust index. This display takes the tension of the mainspring into account, giving the wearer a reckoning of the spring's precision based on the amount of torque left in it. This stunning timepiece is housed in a titanium case coated with DLC (diamond like carbon) which hardens it to 4,000 Vickers, making it virtually scratch proof. Carbon fiber was also used to craft the dial and the inserts found around the side of the case, lightening the total weight of the case without compromising its robustness thanks in part to the fact that the movements base plate is also crafted in carbon fiber. Completing the high tech look, the visable tourbillon carriage is made of blackened gold.
We are anxiously awaiting its arrival, and will tell you every detail as we open its lacquered wood and carbon presentation case.
