Orbita Winders On a Quest for Longest Battery Life

Orbita Corporation is always working on ways to improve their products. The popular line of Sparta winders is specialized at getting the most out of two D cell batteries. Over the counter alkaline batteries last an average of two years as the Swiss-made motors of the Sparta winders are programmed to engage for only a few seconds every ten or fifteen minutes. The winder only pushes the watch-holding cup one half of a turn and lets gravity do the rest of the. Now Orbita offers an even longer lasting battery solution with the use of new non-rechargeable lithium batteries.
Lithium batteries offer the "highest energy capability of any known battery," but have only been suitable for very specific uses as they output a very low current flow. Because the mechanisms used in the Sparta winders are very efficient, they need very little current to function, and therefore a few enginious modifications were enough to give the Sparta winders lithium battery capabilities.
Orbita' s new configuration allows them to guarantee a minimum battery life of five years. When the battery does run out of power, new batteries can be purchased from Orbita and its network of retailers.
Orbita Watch Winders for Collections of Every Size

A collector with dozens or hundreds of high-end watches wants to keep all the pieces optimally wound, because many will not be worn for days to months at a time. They should also be displayed in a beautiful way, as the pieces themselves are tiny works of mechanical art, and are often very valuable.
Orbita Corporation has already responded to this need with the Bergamo 40. It is a beautifully crafted, Italian made cabinet, which conceals 40 independently programmable winding modules that rise out of its back. Like all Orbita winders, the motors function very quietly so the cabinet can be placed anywhere in the home.
If 40 spaces are not enough, Orbita's newest concept will suit the purpose. The company's founder, Chuck Agnoff, wanted to create a new winder for large collections. He engaged Italian furniture designer Gabriella Rossi and received input from some big collectors, and spawned the Rossi System. The system is modular. It is made up of impeccably crafted wood sections that can house watchwinders, manual-winding watches, books, and more. For watch enthusiasts that have a space consecrated to their collection, this is the perfect way to store numerous watches and be able to make new space for future additions.
For those who want to customize even more, the company also supplies 'stock' winder mechanisms that can be fitted to your own furniture or safe. Visit our Bergamo collection and Rossi System sections for more information.
Watch Accessories: A Great Gift Idea

Giving a present to someone you love during this season is fantastically rewarding and meaningful. Figuring out what that perfect present is will be somewhat more demanding. For a watch aficionado, the right watch seems like the only great gift idea. But if you don't know the exact model he or she would love, the right watch may be an elusive animal.
Watch accessories are gifts that any watch lover will appreciate and get use out of while not being as dependent on personal taste as an actual timepiece.
The ultimate watch accessory is an indispensable tool for watch makers and owners alike, and is also a piece of finely crafted furniture. Winders keep automatic watches running indefinitely and actually decrease the frequency at which one needs to service their watch. Orbita Corporation makes superb boxes with highly programmable mechanism to keep your watch running as efficiently as possible.
Watch straps come in a huge variety of different materials, colours, and sizes. Change the strap on your watch and it will feel like a brand new watch. Some companies, like Michele Watches, Lancaster Itally, and Dubey & Schaldenbrand, have embraced this idea, and created straps that can be changed without tools and without the help of a professional.
These are just a few gift ideas that any watch guy or girl would love. Every price range and function is covered at our store.
