The relationship between Jaeger-LeCoultre and Cartier was to last more than three-quarters of a century. From 1927 until 1979, Jaeger-LeCoultre supplied more than thirty-two different calibers to the European Watch Company, which was founded in 1919 by Cartier in New York. With the advent of quartz technology, the relationship between the two companies weakened toward the end of the 1970s.
