The Heritage watches combine two design principles that are very important to Bell & Ross. The style of airplane instrumentation and the feel of vintage watches. Beige, photo-luminescent hour markers and hands emulate the aging of white elements found on vintage watches, and a clean, bold tan leather strap holds the watch securely on the wrist. An automatic winding movement offers reliable Swiss watchmaking quality and a power reserve of 42 hours.

Bell & Ross created a very strong buzz at Baselworld 2010 in March thanks to the multitude of great, new watches that they released. Amongst these are two BR 03, 42mm square Instruments based on the Heritage style that was introduced the year before. I wrote about the BR 03 Heritage models in a previous post on the Baily Blog, so I will not go into details here. A simple three-hand and a chronograph version are offered. Both are showcased in the video below.

Bell & Ross was one of the most talked about brands at Baselworld 2010. This is thanks to some fantastic and defining novelties such as the BR 03-92 military Ceramic and an entire new collection of vintage-inspired timepieces. Because of this, some of the BR 03 novelties were somewhat overshadowed, but for Bell & Ross fans like us their release was very exciting. The BR 03 Heritage models are amongst these low-flying novelties. They depict the style of the larger BR 01 Heritage that enjoyed much success over the past six months. A three-hand and chronograph version, previously unavailable in the larger BR 01 size, were presented.

I hear these words from about 70% of the men that come into Matt Baily to try on watches. This is a misperception, as most of these men actually have an average size wrist. A few even have some pretty large wrists. Perhaps a pamphlet should be created to put wrist sizes in perspective. The only source I could find for data is from Statistics Canada, which states that the average diameter of a 19 year old man is just over 6.5 inches. I estimate that about 60% of all men's wrists that I see in the store are between 6 3/4 and 7 1/4 inches.

The Bell & Ross BR03 94 Black and White Instrument gives the model a contrast and pop like the Limited Editions do, but making it part of the regular series. What impressed us the most is silver ring that frames the dial. It really gives this piece an added punch.
