Pre-Basel 2012 - New Rado Hyperchrome Watches ¶
(Cet article n'est pas disponible en Français)
Baselworld 2012 is approaching, and we have more news from Rado about a new series of ceramic watches for men and women called the Hyperchrome.
Available in a variety of models and colour combinations, so far we have photos of the Automatic and the Automatic Chronograph. Diamond versions are also said to be in the works, as well as some quartz models.
At this point details are still forthcoming, but expect the XXL models (illustrated here) to be around 42mm. The chronograph will have a high-grade ETA 2894 calibre movement, a slimmer and higher-spec alternative to the Valjoux 7750. The automatics will have 28XX series three-hand movements with date. Cases and bracelets will be in ceramic with steel and titanium hardware where needed (like on the pushers of the chronograph, or the clasp of the bracelet).
Overall the Hyperchromes seem to be very nice traditionally styled models with excellent detailing and high-tech materials, and will make a great classic compliment to the recently announced D-Star 200 divers. Expect to see the Hyperchrome in store later this year, with an official unveiling at Baselworld in March.
