La BR Minuteur Tourbillon est le modèle le plus complexe que la jeune entreprise a conçu jusqu’à maintenant. Le boîtier possède un style inédit : il mesure 44 mm de longueur par 50 mm de largeur, et est pourvu d’une finition satinée à la main. Le support du tourbillon en or 18 carats est visible à six heures et la fonction retour en vol permet au chronographe de mesurer à la fois les minutes et les dixièmes d’heure. Fidèle à la philosophie de montres professionnelles de Bell & Ross, la Minuteur est étanche à 100 mètres.

When it comes to complications, the tourbillon is the top tier of the watchmaker’s art. It is one of the most difficult complications to execute, one of the most expensive to buy, and one of the most superfluous in function. Tourbillons have had a sort of renaissance in the last 20 years, with ever more exotic and exponentially more complex variants, but the basic principle dates back to the 18th century when Abraham Louis Breguet was looking for a way to beat gravity.

Once a masterpiece is conceived in the mind of the artist, it takes time and care to completed it. It must satisfy the stringent demands and expectations of collectors. It took most of a year since Bell & Ross unveiled their Minuteur models for the first one to be available to the public, but for thirty lucky collectors it will be worth the wait.

Bell & Ross has released details on their newest Instrument and it has been reported on Timezone. There will be two models shown at Baselworld in the new rectangular shape. One will be the tourbillon Minuteur in rose gold, and the other will be a titanium model that will feature the ultra-hard diamond like coating (DLC). I have even heard reports from a customer that spotted the actual watch in Paris on the a shop-owner's wrist. The watch looks so good he called us upon returning to Montreal to ask about it.

As they did last year with the release of the BR-01 Tourbillon, Bell & Ross is slowly unveiling the newest of their highly complicated pieces. They are doing so on the official BR site with a puzzle-like picture that is getting closer to completion as we near the beginning of Baselworld 2008 where the watch will be officially unveiled.
